Irish Hiking Mittens?

I made my scarf and hat a while back. DH loves it (see picture on my blog at http://craftygal7388.blogspot.com ). I wonder if anyone adapted the pattern for a pair of mittens? I would love to knit a set for myself. I was even wondering about a convertible set. You know, the ones with the fingerless glove inside the mittens. If you do have any ideas, maybe post information here and email me at craftygal@comcast.net
Thanks

My Irish Hiking Scarf

Hi, I'm new. I've finished an Irish Hiking Scarf, and I'm looking for something pink to make the Irish Hiking Wrist Warmers out of for my niece for xmas.

Here is my lovely washed out photo :) The Irish Hiking Scarf made of Lionbrand Babysoft Yarn in Lavender. Verdict: Cables are fun, acrylic cables aren't all that beautiful, and its a bit short, but cute anyway.

A great way to use leftover yarn mind you!

I am making this lovely scarf for my brother for Christmas and joining you'all will just make it more fun! Here is my start:

I am using Lion Brand Fisherman's wool. It is the first 100% wool I have worked with, since I am fairly new to knitting. more soon . . .

Another newbie

Hi all. just started the IHS over the weekend. I posted a pic of my (then) 4 repeats on my blog on the October 25th entry here. (The blogger account I used to sign up here is not linked to my blog, I use WordPress)

I'm slowly but surely progressing and hope to have this thing done while it's cold enough to wear ;-) Everyone else's FOs and WIPs are such a great inspiration to finish! And the accessories? Awesome!

Thanks for having me!

Sidebar addition: Yarns used

Some people were curious as to which yarns were used to make the scarves. I went through most of the posts and listed the yarns mentioned in the left sidebar. If I had enough information, I included a link to my best knowledge.

If you made this scarf with yarn that isn't mentioned on the left, leave a comment with the information & I'll add it!

more irish hiking scarves in progress

I have started a couple of more scarves - one is in 1824 merino superwash (feels yummy) and the secomd in noro kureon colorway 52 (looks yummy) feels (kinda scratchy). I am happy with both scarves so far - the noro one is more of a bastardized irish hiking scarf as i am not counting rows between twists and some are long and some standard. The yarn cables nicely and i love the colors. This is about 1.75 skeins of yarn and I have 4 to use so it should make a nice scarf. The green is about 1 skein in and I have 4 of those also. What to do with so many scarves...I don't know if I can give them away. I also started a hat in a pretty salmon color that i may give away I am about 2/3 rds of the way done with that one. Its coming out ok too.
