Dressy Hiking Scarf

So, I've started another one =) This one is for my dad - I don't think he knows about this blog, so I think it's safe to say that =) I spun the yarn up myself, and am knitting it on size 3 needles - with 3 repeats, it's going to be about 3.5 or 4 inches wide - just the right size to fit under a jacket, etc.

That was fun!

I finished it over the weekend, this is the nicest pattern, elegant and rewarding. I used a burgundy alpaca that I had frogged from another sweater. I think the yarn wanted to be this instead, it just feels wonderful. This one isn't for me, but I think I may have to make another, maybe in purple.

I finally finished my first Irish hiking scarf after a few months of knitting-and-putting-it-down-for-a-while! It was in a beautiful green shade, made for a friend of mine. I don't have a camera so I can't take a picture or anything, but if she gets a picture of it, I'll be sure to post it! I'm now going to make one in a very nice tan shade!

Lynnette's scarf. I made it with Knit Picks Elegance. Very soft, very nice. I also made some mitts. Need to take pictures of them before I send everything off to her.

My Irish Hiking Scarf

This scarf got put on the back burner in the mad rush to finish Christmas gifts and was forgotten for awhile. I'm so glad I picked it up again to finish it. The pattern is beautiful, and the Rowan Cork was a dream to knit.

Yarn: Rowan Cork - 3 skeins in Navy
Needles: Bamboo Circular size 8 US
Finished Size: 5" x 50" unblocked

Thanks for a fantastic knitalong!
