New Year - New Hobby

Last year I learned how to spin and this year I said I would learn how to knit. I half way knew the knit and purl stitch but never did anything with it until now. A friend told me of this site and said to join but I thought she was nuts! She said there were cables - yikes!! But I tried it and with this pattern and her help I actually look like I know what I am doing!! I have done about 17 inches with my homespun. My boyfriend doesn't want it long, he wants more of a muffler and as this would make it rate an FO status sooner I love him for it!! So I am saying I am 1/2 way done. When I finish and figure out how to post a pic I will. Thank You for starting my year off with a bang!
