Tricky thing...that gauge stuff!
I'm a new knitter and attempting my first Irish Hiking Scarf. The pattern is wonderful, the flowing cables are lovely and yes, the gauge is off...way off. By the time this baby is finished, only Shrek the Ogre will be large enough to wear it and not look buried alive in the scarf. :) Nevertheless, I love it. (Can't wait to do it correctly the next time!)

I agree, forget shrek! I think it looks great and the cables really pop! If anything it would make a lovely wrap too!
I agree about the wrap idea! I borrowed a wide scarf from my mom and it worked great worn as a wrap.
