Lefty Attempts

Are there any other left-handed knitters working on this scarf? I want to be sure I'm following the directions properly, seeing as how I knit "backwards" - I got through the first 8 rows last night and at the end of row 8 I was left with knitting what was on the cable needle. I don't think this is right... not giving up yet, just checking before I create a bigger mess.

No, that doesn't sound right to me, either. I'm not a lefty, but I'll try describing the pattern, and maybe that will help. It's basically symmetrical, so it shouldn't really matter.

The first and last pair of stitches are knit on every row, creating a garter edge. Moving towards the center, next comes 4 stitches of K2P2 ribbing. On the right side, the knit rib is closest to the edge, then the purl rib. Next come the six stitches of the cable. For 7 rows, these are basic stockinette, with the cable twist every 8 rows. Next is 6 stiches of rib, with the rib near the cable being opposite the stitch used -- if you purled 6, then k2, p2, k2; if you knit 6, p2, k2, p2. Finally, in the center is the third cable.

Can you work from a chart? I can draw one up (if the author doesn't object!) if you'd like.

Does what you end up with look like this? I ended up frogging twice because it kept coming out like that. What I find logical often does not match with other people's concept, so for C6F I was putting all 6 stitches on my cable needle (instead of just 3).

Yes!! That's exactly what it was! I did figure it out (I'm not sure from where... maybe at Wendy's site) but I am glad to know that I was not the only one!
